「Vertical Ocean」
「Vertical Ocean」

Artist
1972 Born in Okayama Prefecture
1998 Completed postgraduate studies in printmaking at Kyoto City University of Arts.
In 2013-14, he was awarded the Gotoh Memorial Culture Prize for New Artists, and enrolled in the Reiko Ikemura class as a guest student at the Berlin University of the Arts in Germany.
He has been working consistently on the questions of "existence" and "original". This was a proposition that arose while he was learning the reproduction technique of printmaking.
One and only one natural object, or an old object that has become "one of a kind" through human hands and time.
He has been attracting attention for his works in which he molds and reproduces them with resin, and then paints them to look exactly like the real thing with his excellent technique.

Gallery
MA2Gallery is a commercial gallery of contemporary art opened in Ebisu in 2006.
We are not concerned with any particular category, but introduce high quality and sophisticated contemporary art works from Japan and abroad that are deeply related to contemporary society while pursuing originality.
In addition to the artists we represent, we are also involved in thematic exhibitions that transcend various borders in order to make art more accessible to the public, participation in art fairs in Japan and abroad, commissioned work and proposals for interior design.
The exhibition space, designed by Manabu Chiba, is also characterised by its natural light.
